Simon doesn't have his website online yet but I hope this will suffice for the moment! This flyer is aimed at those not familiar with either locale or local. The Rising Sun is in Hall's Green, one of the greens of Weston. One continues down Maiden Street and, shortly after crossing the River Styx, one comes to the hamlet of Hall's Green and the distinctive pub sign. Go no further! There be dragons (probably). |

But why go further, you've found a great little country Pub. For those of you not
familiar with McMullens, I'd recommend the AK. For years it was sold as a light mild beer but now has a
more accurate name. Anoraks could spend a life time researching the derivation of the
letters "AK". The rest of us don't bother -- we just enjoy it!
Whatever! I drove out to take a few photos. In fact, some of these are not mine. The ones taken when the sun was shining were taken by a local photographer & artist. Thanks Kathy for letting me use them! I took a few photos then sat in the leper colony hoping the sun would come out. While waiting I chatted with the odd couple. |

-- and the landlord, Simon.
He hasn't been at the Rising Sun that long, but is certainly stamping his personality on the pub. The carpark is large, well kept and not over cluttered with signs. Thus he can welcome all and sundry. |

He seems remarkably tolerant. Not only does he welcome Kiwis, but I noticed he was pleasant to the impoverished who couldn't even afford their own cars! But our interest is his support of Pétanque! The Rising Sun now has an attractive, re-located terrain. |

It is now sited well back from the road where it is ringed by trees.
I was glad to see it is very well lit. This will allow some good Fun Play this coming winter. |
