Buddy Teams
Clubs may have more than two teams. The two teams may well play their home matches on the same night. Few of our Clubs have a large enough terrain to enable two matches to be played simultaneously so any of these pairs of teams can be designated Buddy Teams.

The program I use to draw up the fixture lists for a division of a league will ensure that Buddy Teams alternate between Home and Away fixtures to ensure that they are never at Home on the same evening.

Buddy Teams may play in different divisions of a league without any problem --
-- always provided that there are the same number of teams in each division!

But note! One cannot have 3 Buddies!

If a Club has 3 teams it must either have enough space to play more than one match at a time, or it must play Home matches on more than one day of the week.

Given enough space for two matches or the willingness to play on different evenings, there is nothing to stop a club having two sets of Buddy Teams

Starting a small League
Buddy Teams can be very helpful when starting new Leagues. Suppose there are only 4 locations at which a match could be played. Further suppose, that 12 players can be found at each location. Each location could then have two Buddy Teams to form a league of 8 teams, each team playing every other on a Home and Away basis to give a good playing seaon of 14 weeks!!
